Department of Transportation Worker Killed In Bronx Work Accident

A worker for the NYC Department of Transportation was struck and killed on the job on Wednesday, April 4. The 57-year-old man was working on the Hutchinson Parkway when he was struck by an SUV at around 10:30 am. He was brought to Jacobi Hospital for treatment of head trauma, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the driver of a 2012 Subaru was heading southbound when he struck the worker on the right shoulder of the parkway. The 62-year-old male driver was brought to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

An investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.

Woman Killed, Daughter Injured In New England Thruway Crash

A woman was killed and her daughter was injured after their car was cut off on the New England Thruway in the Bronx on Saturday, March 17. The auto accident happened at around 11:30 pm when the mother’s GMC Envoy was heading southbound on I-95 near exit 11 at Baychester Avenue.

Another driver cut off the SUV by entering the lane directly in front of the vehicle, forcing the mother to lose control and hit an embankment.

The mother was ejected as the vehicle overturned and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 16-year-old daughter was rescued and brought to Jacobi Hospital, listed in stable condition.

Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Bronx River Parkway Hit-And-Run

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a Mercedes in a hit-and-run accident on Friday, March 23. The accident happened in Westchester County on the Bronx River Parkway near the Cross Country Parkway just before 6:30 pm. The road was temporarily closed down while officers conducted an investigation into the accident.
