A young father in the Bronx is not going to celebrate Father’s Day with his seven-year-old daughter again after he was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident in the Bronx. Below is a list of other accidents that happened in the Bronx and the greater New York area this week.

Young Father Killed In A Hit-And-Run AccidentHit and run accident

 A 28-year-old man from the Bronx was fatally struck by two vehicles in the Concourse section of the Bronx. The man was hit as he was crossing the street at East 138th Street and Walton Avenue in the morning on June 12, 2017. According to police, a dark-colored sedan with TLC plates clipped him and knocked him to the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Witnesses stated that the man, who leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter, was in the crosswalk when he was hit.

Witnesses say the father was in the crosswalk when he was struck by one car and then run over by a second car.

Police also stated that both drivers of the cars initially stopped, but then ran away. The second driver later returned to the scene of the accident and spoke to investigators. Police are still searching for the first vehicle driver.

MTA Buses Crash Into Each Other In The Bronx

On June 14th, 2017, two buses crashed into each other in the Bronx. The accident happened in the morning when one bus backed into the other bus and injured 18 passengers.

According to the MTA, the two buses were close to the West Kingsbridge Road and Kingsbridge Terrace stop when one bus reversed into the other bus.

Fortunately, the 18 passengers who were on board did not suffer life-threatening injuries from the accident, according to police. The bus drivers were also not injured. The injured passengers were transported to local hospitals with the exception of one person who did not want any medical attention.

Long Island Highway Crash Leaves Pedestrian Dead

In Hempstead, New York, a 53-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car as she was crossing a Long Island Highway. Nassau County Police stated that a 69-year-old man hit the woman.

According to police, the woman was crossing Sunrise Highway in Freeport close to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June, 14th. The car that struck her was going westbound. Police have ruled the incident as a non criminal accident.

Motorcyclist Injured In Fort Edward, NY

In Fort Edward, NY a Greenfield man was injured after a motorcycle crash happened on Wednesday, June 14. The accident happened on State Route 4.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office stated that a 25-year-old motorcyclist was driving at a high speed when he lost control and crashed. Deputies responded to an accident call and found the motorcyclist sitting in a ditch along the side of the road.

The motorcyclist was taken to Glen Falls Hospital. Witnesses also stated that they saw the man driving at a high speed before he crashed. Thankfully, this accident did not injure any other people who were near the motorcyclist.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Teenager On Long Island

A 14-year-old girl was killed in a collision that involved a minivan and another vehicle. According to Nassau County Police, the teenager was a passenger in a vehicle that was being driven by a 45-year-old man. The collision happened when the man was trying to make a left turn and was subsequently hit by an oncoming Jeep in Farmingdale, NY.

The minivan spun around after it was hit by a Jeep and crashed into two other vehicles that had stopped at a traffic light. The girl endured multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The other drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Lawsuit

The crash is being investigated as a noncriminal crash.
