Dirt Bike Driver Slams Into A Drunk Officer’s Car

On Friday, September 22, 2017, a 24-year-old man was badly injured when a dirt bike he was riding on was involved in a serious accident. The man suffered near-fatal injuries during a mass motorcycle ride through Washington Heights when the bike he was on slammed into a car being driven by a drunken off-duty probation officer.

The 24-year-old dirt bike passenger was thrown from the vehicle leading him to smack his head on the pavement as the dirt bike collided into an Acura. The Acura was turning off Amsterdam Ave. onto W. 189th St. around 11.30 p.m.

When the dirt bike passenger was thrown off during a group ride of nearly a 100 motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, the drunk driver tried to run away from the scene of the accident.

Fortunately, her attempted run did not succeed and she was caught and arrested for reckless endangerment, fleeing the scene of an accident, and being in possession of drugs.

The injured man was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia with a serious head injury. He remains in critical condition. The 33-year-old probation officer was also charged with drunken driving

Dad Charged With DWI After Asking His 11-Year-Old Son To Drive

An 11-year-old was asked to drive his father’s car after his dad was too intoxicated to get behind the wheel. New Jersey police stated that the 33-year-old father picked up his son on Friday, September 22, 2017, from his grandmother’s house before asking him to get behind the wheel.

Police reported that he was very intoxicated and disoriented so instead of driving, he asked his 11-year-old son to drive them. When the son was asked to drive when the dad got them lost, he became frightened and called his grandmother. His grandmother ended up picking up the boy and called the police.

When officers responded to the call the father was passed out next to the vehicle. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

SUV Driver Crashes Into A Bus Stop Killing One Person

On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, a nurse was killed when a car crashed into her outside a major hospital.

Authorities stated that an SUV crashed into a bus stop in front of a New Jersey hospital. The victim of this incident was a 59-year-old hospital employee who was on a smoke break before her shift started. The accident took down the bus stop as well.

The SUV driver was reportedly alone and ran away from the scene of the accident.

The accident happened at the River Road bus stop located near Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen. The SUV jumped the curb and smashed into the bus stop and nurse.

The nurse was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police are still looking for the driver who ran from the scene of the accident. K9 units have been released to search for this driver. The car records show that the driver was not the owner of the car but, the vehicle was not reported as stolen.

School Bus Crashes With A Subaru In Oswego County

On Monday, September 25, 2017, a school bus and a Subaru Impreza crashed into each other in Oswego County. The incident happened at the intersection of Barker Road and Shanty Creek Road.

An investigation showed that the Subaru crashed into the school bus that was carrying roughly fifteen and twenty elementary students.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported by any students or the bus driver. The Subaru driver needed to be extricated from his car by Central Square Fire Department and was taken Menter Ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. He was listed in critical condition.

The accident is currently under investigation as more details become available.
