4 High School Students Injured In Chemistry Experiment Accident

Four tenth-grade students at a Catholic high school in the Bronx were hospitalized after being burned in a chemistry experiment on Wednesday, November 22nd.

According to the president of the school, a chemistry teacher was showing the students a procedure involving alcohol and metal, when the flame suddenly got out of control and singed several students.

All four students were brought to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment. The Fire Department classified two of the students with serious injuries, but the school’s president claims that all injuries were minor. She also claimed that no hazardous materials were used in the experiment.

One of the student’s mothers plans to speak with the school’s administration because the students were not given any protective gear during the experiment.

2 Injured After Car Overturns On Henry Hudson Parkway

Two people suffered serious injuries after their car overturned on a service road near the Henry Hudson Parkway on Friday, November 10th. The accident occurred around 3:15 a.m. near the northbound side of the parkway.

The two injured victims were transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and listed in serious condition.

Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Garbage Truck

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a private garbage truck under subway tracks in the Bronx on Tuesday, November 7th. The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in Norwood near Jerome Avenue and Gun Hill Road.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No criminal charges are expected in the accident.

Woman Killed In Bronx Hit-And-Run

A woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run in the Bronx on Friday, November 10th. Police responded to the scene at about 4:07 a.m. when someone called about a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the exit ramp off the northbound New England Thruway on Conner Street, exit 13.

The police found a woman in her 20s lying on the street with severe trauma to her body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
