Five People Injured In A Two Car Crash In Baychester, Bronx
Neighbors stated the crash sounded like an airplane boom and the scene was just “horrible”. A man carrying a baby in one arm and pushing a stroller with another was, fortunately, able to quickly get out of harm’s way. His baby suffered very minor scratches from the escape.
The intersection is labeled a danger zone by neighbors and the family that had the fence ruined stated that they used to replace their fence at least once a year due to accidents.
Police reported that there were five people injured in the accident, three with serious injuries, two with minor. All the injured were transported to Jacobi Hospital.
Tractor-Trailer Loses Load On Expressway
Construction equipment fell off a tractor-trailer and hit a private charter bus along the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx.
It was reported that a large piece of industrial equipment fell off a tractor-trailer and smashed into a private charter bus. The two vehicles were going north along the Expressway. The accident left a dozen people in the middle of the highway.
The bus had a smashed windshield and mangled metal. It was not very clear how the construction equipment fell off the flatbed and smashed into the bus. Traffic was brought to a stand still for at least thirty minutes as emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident.
According to one person on the charter bus, shoes, cellphones, people were flying through the air from the impact of the smash.
The bus company was working with the police to investigate what caused the accident to occur.
Box Truck Kills 60-Year-Old Man
On Tuesday morning September 12, 2017, a 60-year-old man was struck and killed after he got hit by a box truck in the Bronx.
The 60-year-old man was smashed into by the box truck as he was crossing the street on Webster Ave. near E. 193rd St. in Fordham Manor. The man suffered severe trauma to his body and unfortunately died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the box truck stayed on the scene and cops did not immediately file any charges against him. However, the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the accident.

Three Vehicle Crash Leaves One Person Seriously Injured
On September 11, 2017, one person was seriously injured in an accident on Route 149 in West Fort Ann. The accident led to the route being closed for over two hours due to the three-vehicle crash.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a 30-year-old woman was heading east when her Nissan side-swept a westbound pickup truck that ended up crashing into a westbound GMC pickup head-on.
Firefighters had to extricate the Nissan driver out of her car and she needed to be transported to Albany Medical Center via helicopter for serious leg injury treatment. The GMC pickup occupants were also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries
Motorcyclist Killed In A Crash On New York City Highway
An accident that led to a car catching fire left a 25-year-old motorcyclist dead on a New York City highway. According to police, the motorcyclist was driving on the Grand Central Parkway on Sunday morning, September 10, 2017, when he collided with a guardrail.
Police also stated that he was pushed off his bike and the motorcycle lodged under an SUV that ended up sparking and the sparks caught onto a sedan behind it.
The NYPD officials stated the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The SUV driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
